Established in December 2021, SOS Storage of Marathon proudly continues the legacy of the Brier Family, who operated Brier's RV and Boat Storage in Marathon, Florida, for more than 30 years. Frequently Asked Questions
What hours am I able to access the lot?
Our office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (excluding major holidays). Vehicle pickups and drop-offs are available during regular business hours. After-hours and weekend access may be available by appointment for a $35 service fee.
Can I use my boat or Jet Skis anytime I want?
Our facility is designed for storage rather than daily in-and-out use. Because boats and trailers are carefully arranged to maximize space and protect customer property, frequent access isn't currently available. We are working toward offering a limited number of spaces designed for customers who need more frequent access.
Where is the nearest boat ramp?
The closest boat ramp is conveniently located next door at Grassy Key Marina. Launch fees may apply.
Do you have power to charge batteries or plug in my refrigerator?
No. We do not provide electrical hookups. Due to fire safety concerns, battery charging and generator use are only permitted while the customer is on site during normal business hours. Overnight charging and unattended generators are not permitted. Solar charging is welcome.
Do I need insurance while it is in storage?
We recommend maintaining insurance coverage on your vehicle while it is stored. SOS Storage of Marathon does not provide insurance coverage for vehicles stored on our property.
What happens if there is a hurricane?
If a tropical storm or hurricane threatens the Florida Keys, we'll notify customers by email as early as possible. Whenever practical, we encourage customers to remove their boats or RVs before landfall. We understand this isn't always possible, and customers who choose to leave their vehicles on site should ensure they have appropriate insurance coverage.
Do I park my own boat or RV?
In most cases, no. Simply drop off your boat, trailer, or RV, and our staff will professionally park it for you. When you're ready to pick it up, we'll have it pulled out and ready for an easy departure. This allows us to maximize safety, efficiently utilize available space, and make your arrival and departure as convenient as possible. Motorhomes and fifth wheels are the exception and are parked by the customer with staff guidance.
Can I have my boat washed or serviced while it's in storage?
Absolutely. Customers are welcome to schedule professional detailing, waxing, cleaning, routine maintenance, or repairs while their boat is in storage. We also offer an on-site wash-down station for customer use. Fiberglass repair, sanding, grinding, spray painting, and other work that creates dust or overspray are not permitted on the property. To coordinate access, please contact us in advance. All contractors and service providers must provide a valid Certificate of Insurance (COI) before performing any work on the property.
